Inner Sunset Wins Sunset Cleanup Showdown

Inner Sunset and Central Sunset neighborhoods come together for the Sunset Cleanup Showdown. We joined forces for a friendly competition and Vince showed up in his official (not official) referee jersey!

Together we collected 120 bags! Inner Sunset had around 90 and Central Sunset had around 30.Inner Sunset had WAY more volunteers (thanks to the Chinatown Rotary and St. Anne’s community), so if you counted bag per person, Central Sunset actually had a better %!
Anyhow, a WIN WIN for the neighborhoods and a fun pizza tasting at the end featuring neighborhood faves — Pasquales and SF Hole in the Wall. Yum!
Congratulations to the Inner Sunset for taking home the G.O.A.T. trash trophy in last month’s Inner Sunset v. Central Sunset Showdown. We had heaps of fun and enjoyed the community spirit. Thanks to everyone who came out for it!

Hope to see you next Saturday, September 23rd from 10am-12pm for the regularly-scheduled monthly cleanup (4th Saturday of the month!). We’re back to our usual spot in front of One Medical on Irving @ 10th Avenue and will be adding a gardening component to help clean up some of the planter boxes and tree plots. Tools will be provided.

Save the Date for our first monthly Happy Hour Cleanup on Wednesday, October 11th from 5-6 pm. We’ll pick up some trash and then go grab a beer at the Blackthorn. The first round is on us!

Finally, the monthly shout out goes to the very talented designer and Inner Sunset neighbor Maya Lim, we have a new look for our flyers and social media graphics with the cutest and trashiest puns that will get a smile out of even the most curmudgeon-y of us. Here is a link to her portfolio to view more of her work! Thanks again, Maya!
