For parents of little ones, UCSF in the Community is hosting a "Touch a Truck" event on 9/12 - an opportunity to see and board some of the big machinery and equipment being used to build the new hospital and research facilities at the Parnassus campus. Applications are still open for the Inner Sunset Vibrancy Fund. Up to $20k in grants to help with storefront beautification, technical assistance, and new and emerging businesses. The San Francisco County Transportation Authority recently approved the Inner Sunset Transportation Study, and there's a lot in it for our streets. The study, requested by Supervisor Melgar and informed by two rounds of community input, includes near-term improvements such as better crosswalk markings at intersections, an upgraded bike lane on 7th Avenue, and consolidated transit stops on Judah to improve bus service reliability. Longer-term, it calls for more public space on Irving Street between 5th and 9th Avenues and better parking management along the N Judah corridor.![]()
