Nelda Williams, record-setting triathlete

It takes an unusual person to jump into San Francisco Bay at dawn, swim a mile and a half, bike 18 miles, and run another eight. Nelda Williams is unusual and more. And that’s a good thing. She broke the course record for her age group (65-69) at this year’s Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, besting the old mark by 29 minutes. A charming speaker as well as a dedicated athlete with 20 years of triathlon experience, Nelda will narrate a slideshow about the race, her part in it, and the triathlon world in general. The perfect program to help keep a Thanksgiving feast under control.
