From London Breed’s January Newsletter: “In early December, I had a great time with Mayor Ed Lee and my colleague Supervisor Katy Tang when we toured District 5’s newest independent bookstore. At the opening of Green Apple’s new location in the Inner Sunset, we were able to support the Indies First Campaign, an author and illustrator supported movement that celebrates indies and encourages shopping independent bookstores first.

Our tour coincided with the Mayor’s regular small business tours, and as it was the holiday season, we took the opportunity to promote the Shop and Dine in the 49 program as well. Shop and Dine in the 49 is a shop local campaign challenging residents to do all their shopping and dining within the 49 square miles of San Francisco during the holiday season.”
