25jul7:00 pm8:45 amSHARP lecture Brain Work: A Scientist Studies Neurogenesis

Event Details

Did you ever wonder what those hotshot biomedical researchers at UCSF actually do? And how they do it? And why it matters? Georgia Panagiotakos, Ph.D, is one of those scientists. A Sandler Fellow at UCSF, she runs a lab that studies how the brain develops (neurogenesis). She will tell us how she spends her days and, while she’s at it, how our brains came to be what they are (at least before they started going downhill). Get a look at neuroscience in action and a look inside your head, too. Your synapses may never be the same. And you will never have to read Neurogenesis for Dummies. Doors open at 6:30 for cookies and conversation. More info: http://sharpsf.com/
