Come see our local Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) in action as the Team practices its first-ever neighborhood drill on Sunday, May 7 between 9 am and 1 pm on the school yard at Independence High (between Irving/Judah and 6th/7th Avenues). Our NERT consists of volunteer local residents of the Inner Sunset and Golden Gate Heights who have been trained by the SF Fire Department to assist neighbors during a disaster. You can visit the NERT “staging area” at the school yard to see how NERT is organized and watch them perform various exercises.
